XNA and C# Download Instructions

If you have come to the decision that you want to engage in the XNA world and learn to program games in C#, then you will need some tools. This post will hopefully help you find the downloads.

1. First, make sure your computer meets the System Requirements for C# and XNA.
2. Next, you need to download and install the C# Express Edition.
3. After that, go ahead and download and install the Service Pack 1 for the C# Express Edition. If you have a Windows Vista operating system, then you should download and install the Windows Vista Service Pack 1 Update.
4. Now, download and install XNA Game Studio Express.
5. Finally, if you want to develop games for the Xbox 360, there is a Video that will help you with this task.

Note: There is actually a newer version of XNA, XNA 2.0 (Beta) but I am not using that version yet in any of the tutorials.

Once all these steps have been completed, you should be up and ready to get started creating your very first small games. If you don't know C#, there are two simple lessons on them located under the C# Primer label. Also, there are some other tutorials for XNA under the Question and Answer label and the Tutorial label. If you have any requests for tutorials, please, ask for them.
